In 1979 American Miso Company was founded with the mission of producing traditional handmade miso in the United States. Great Eastern Sun Trading Company was established in 1981 for the purpose of distributing both American Miso Company's Miso Master Organic handmade miso and healthy, traditional imported Asian foods that are vitally important to a natural foods diet.
Miso Master Organic Misos are produced by traditional means, using domestically sourced grains and beans and handmade koji. Miso Master Organic Misos are naturally aged without temperature control, yeast accelerants, or preservatives used by many commercial miso makers. Our other brands, Emerald Cove, Emperor's Kitchen, Organic Planet, Sushi Sonic, Sweet Cloud, and Haiku contribute to our mission of bringing only the best Asian foods and condiments to market. For more than 40 years, we've remained committed to the ideals with which we began: to provide the highest quality natural and organic foods for the health of ourselves and our planet!
Ingredients: Organic handmade rice koji, organic whole chickpeas, sun-dried sea salt, Blue Ridge Mountain well water, koji spores.
Unpasteurized, refrigerate. Refrigerated shelf life about 18 months.
